Framing Subcontractor’s Work Straight and Plumb

During construction of a luxury mountain home, various disputes arose between the homeowners and the home builder, resulting in the home builder’s resignation from the project. In the ensuing lawsuit, the homeowners asserted numerous claims against the home builder, including claims of defective framing work. In response to the owners’ claims, the home builder sued the original framing subcontractor which had been terminated and the framing subcontractor hired to complete the framing work. Despite the lack of evidence that the second framing subcontractor was responsible for any framing defects, the home builder refused its requests to be dismissed from the lawsuit. After a 2-week jury trial, the jury found the framing subcontractor was not liable for any alleged defects or incomplete framing work and awarded it costs against the home builder and its principals. Erin Leach represented the framing subcontractor in the action.
